Correcting font problems

When fonts appear as random letters (lt¥ãC), you do not have that language font on your computer. In some cases, you may have a font for that language but not the one used on the website. (In this case, there will be a mix such as 학YF생9을.) In order to read the language, you will need to add the correct font. When the letters appear as ?????????, designs (ƆƆƆƆ), or numbers (Этот) you probably need to upload a missing decimal code file to your computer.

Language fonts used on this website include:

Amharic and Tigrigna = VG2Main and Visual Ge'ez
Farsi = Nazanin.ttf
Korean = Batang
Urdu = Nafees_Pakistani_Naskh.ttf
Oriya = OR-TTSarala
Gujarati = TERAFONT-TRILOCHAN
Kannada = WKAN001.TTF
Sinhalese = Search for Sinhala fonts
Arabic = Search for NAZANIN.TTF
Indic = Search for ORSR0ntt.ttf
Ethiopic = Search for VGUnicode.TTF

To download fonts, search Google using the font name given above.

Correcting decimal code problems

Some files on this website use decimal code rather than fonts. (When the English words "I walk" are written in decimal code, the code looks like this, I w alk. Decimal code is similar to Unicode©, though it requires a much smaller file because Unicode© includes the letters from all known alphabets.) The decimal code function must be installed on your computer to reproduce the letters correctly. If you are using a PC, the file c_1252.nls is generally installed in the WINDOWS<SYSTEM32 folder. (PC computers outside of the United States often use the file iso 8859-1 rather than c_1252.nls.) See Wareseeker.com for a downloadable c_1252.nls file. See Alan Wood’s Unicode Resources and Nullsoft.ru for more information. You can test your computer by opening any of the language pages listed below. If the page does not open correctly, your computer is missing the decimal code file. Caution: Do not make system changes unless you are qualified to do software management.
